Examinations are approaching, and the final stretch often makes or breaks your performance.
With only 5 days left before your O Level or A Level Mathematics paper, it’s not about learning new content anymore — it’s about consolidating, sharpening, and building confidence.
Here’s a structured Last-5-Day Revision Strategy to help you maximise your results.
Day 1: Quick Sweep of All Major Topics
Review your syllabus checklist and ensure you have at least touched on every topic once.

O level Math syllabus
A Level Math syllabus
Focus on key formulas, definitions, and theorems — e.g. trigonometric identities, differentiation and integration rules, vector properties. Also, create a formula sheet (mind map or summary table) that you can use as a fast reference.
Do 1–2 past year structured questions from each big topic to test your recall.
Day 2: Strengthen Weak Areas
This is important! Dedicate today to your weakest 2–3 topics. Work through 3–4 questions per topic, starting from simple to exam-level questions. If you’re struggling, revise worked solutions or short notes instead of diving into completely new material.
- Clarify any of the sections that you cannot understand with tuition teachers or school teachers as soon as possible!
👉 Purpose: Reduce the risk of low scores in your weakest areas.
Day 3: Timed Practice
- Simulate a mini exam: choose 1 past paper or practice paper.
- Set a strict timer (no calculator for Paper 1 sections).
- Review mistakes immediately and mark which errors were due to:
- Concept gaps
- Careless mistakes
- Time pressure
- Work specifically on time-saving techniques (e.g. skipping long questions and coming back later).
👉 Purpose: Build exam stamina and highlight time management issues.
Day 4: Drill Key Question Types
- Focus on high-yield question types that often appear:
- O Level Math: quadratic graphs, transformations, geometry proofs, trigonometry, statistics.
- A Level Math: differentiation/integration applications, vectors in 3D, probability & statistics, complex numbers.
- Solve 10–15 mixed short questions under time pressure.
- Revise calculator shortcuts (e.g. solving equations, regression functions).
👉 Purpose: Be battle-ready for the questions most likely to appear.
Day 5: Light Revision & Confidence Boost
- Do not overload. This is a polishing day.
- Review your formula sheet, mistake logbook, and a few key examples.
- Attempt only 2–3 short practice questions per topic — just enough to stay sharp.
- Sleep early and keep stress low.
👉 Purpose: Enter the exam calm, confident, and focused.
