About the O Levels and A Level Math
As MuscleMath Tuition’s June Holiday Math Programme wraps up, we encourage students not to lose momentum.
Now is the ideal time to continue working on weaker topics and stay ahead for the second half of the academic year. Whether you’ve attended our holiday classes or are new to us, our regular tuition programme offers structured lessons and expert guidance to strengthen understanding and boost exam readiness.
In addition, be sure to check on your O Level or A level exam dates so that you are able to prepare and plan ahead!

Prelims
In Singapore, Math prelim exams for O-Level and A-Level students are usually held between July and September, depending on the school.
These exams serve as a final checkpoint before the national exams (which begin in October), helping students assess their readiness and identify weak areas. Schools may vary slightly, but most schedule Math prelims around Term 3 or early Term 4 (July or August).
How to Prepare for the Prelims?
As you prepare for the Prelims in Secondary School and JC Math, it’s important to take a structured, topic-based approach. Break down the syllabus into key areas—such as algebra, graphs, trigonometry, vectors, and calculus—and review concepts, formulas, and question types.
Focus especially on topics with high weightage in Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Do note that prelims are not the final exam, but they serve as an important checkpoint. They highlight gaps in understanding and exam skills like time management and question interpretation. Scoring poorly shouldn’t discourage you—it’s a signal to refine your revision strategy and seek help if needed. Treat prelims as a simulation that builds your stamina and confidence for the real thing.
